Introduction to London:
London is a trendy vacation destination for travelers interested in history and British culture. Anyway, London is an exceptional place. Some people want to live there and others want to visit it. In this article, I will be giving the ultimate guide to visiting London and enjoying it.
Attractions:
London has a lot of attractions to the point that it may be a little overwhelming to decide which ones would be best to do. With this article, I will give you the highlight attractions that everyone can enjoy.
This attraction can also fall under the category of food since this attraction is High Tea(Yes, with fancy pinkies and everything). Where I went for the High Tea was at The Harrods Tea Rooms which was very nice and proper. Also, the snacks that they offered were great and weren’t crappy sandwiches.
Visiting the Queen(I guess it’s now the King). This attraction is very fun and unique since you get to go around “Buckingham Palace” and see the artwork and what the castle is really like. A fun fact is that I visited the palace the week before the Queen passed away(Rest in peace). Because of that, I was one of the last few who visited the Palace while she was still reigning.
Now everyone should visit the Tower of London because it has so much history and it is cool to see inside the tower. To make it even better, they have planted many flowers in the moat and turned it into a lovely large garden for the Queen’s Jubilee. They might continue that tradition so if you are going to London look out to see if they are doing another flower show because it was the highlight of seeing the tower. This attraction is called Superbloom.
Another great attraction to do while you visiting is to go to a market some great ones include The Borough Market, The Maltby Street Market, and The Southbank Center food and book markets or the Portobello Market for vintage finds.
London is also famous for their theater so going to multiple productions would be a good idea. Some of my favorites were Wicked and Back to the Future.
Food options:
London has a lot of yummy food options that are acceptable for all those picky eaters. These were some of my favorites and just some other good options for food:
An interesting restaurant that I didn’t eat at but saw and thought was very cool is the restaurant called Coppa Club, Tower which is a restaurant near the Tower of London. This restaurant looked so interesting to me because you’re eating in this glass bubble thing that looked so cool. So if you get the chance to go to the restaurant please do since it looked amazing including the menu.
The English Rose Cafe seems like a nice cafe near Buckingham Palace and other attractions. This place is perfect if you want a quick sweet treat before you go to another activity and will cost you $9-20 CAD depending on what you get though of course.
This restaurant is called Abruzzi which is a fancy Italian restaurant with an interesting menu so this would not be a great place for those picky eaters but otherwise, it seems to be great somewhat in the heart of London too which is nice since it will be near your attractions. Now, this restaurant is a little pricier than the other options so that’s something to keep in mind.
If you're looking for a simple meal The Church Key Bistro-Pub is perfect since it offers a ton of different simple meals you can order for a cheaper price than some other restaurants on this list. This restaurant is a little more outside of the heart of London but is still near. So if you’re looking for a simple cheap easy meal The Church Key Bistro-Pub is the right choice for you.
Hotels:
The best option for hotels in London isn’t hotels but Airbnb's since it gives a homier feel. They are also cheaper and offer more space than hotels. Also, they are more in a neighborhood where people live rather than on a popular busy street. These are some good options:
The Apartment in the heart of the Soho vibe! OCS-1-D is a good option since it is less than 5 minutes away from many nice areas and is near a very popular subway station. This Airbnb will cost you around $186 CAD a night.
Another great Airbnb option would be the 2 Bedrooms in the Heart of Soho which accommodates 4 guests with 2 beds and 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. This is also in the same-ish area as the previous option which is also in the heart of London but still in its neighborhood. This will cost you $296 CAD a night
The SUPER LOCATION,2 ENSUITE NEXT THE STATION! is another good option that sits a little farther away from the heart of London which may be better since it’ll be less noisy and busy. This Airbnb can host 6 guests and has 2 bedrooms, 3 beds, and 2 baths. This Airbnb will cost you around $294 CAD a night.
When should you visit London?:
London is a place that I believe there is no perfect time to visit since there is always something exciting and different happening. Because of that, I don’t think it matters when you go because whenever it is you will enjoy it and not regret it. So when you have time off next, maybe consider London as your next travel destination.
Why?:
Why should you go? I thought it was already obvious after all the amazing attractions I told you about and the cool cafes and restaurants I showed you. Well if you’re still not convinced for some reason I’ll try to explain why you should go even more. You should go because it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you should take and have fun enjoying it. Because it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience it means YOU SHOULD GO OK? Just kidding, do what you want but this truly is a great and unique city you should be able to go and experience.
Safety:
I felt very safe in London even as a young female. Because of that, I believe that it is a safe place but as I always say just because you feel safe may not mean that you are so be aware of your surroundings and stay safe everyone!
Environment:
In regards to the environment since we only have one, make sure when you're traveling to be conscious about the environment since we still need it to last us many more decades so think green.
