Montreal, ca
Introduction to Montreal:
If you’ve never heard of Montréal(How haven’t you?) It is a Québécois city in Québec. But basically, Montreal is a city which I believe people have come from everywhere to live in the same city and work or go to school here. It is similar to NYC in that way. I have been to Montreal 3 times now for about 4 days to see the city and get some great pieces of clothing. In this article, like all the others I will be giving you the ULTIMATE travel guide to Montreal.
Attractions:
Montreal offers fewer attractions than most cities but they still have a few good options to entertain yourself and explore the city while you’re there.
The most common thing that people do while visiting is go shopping since it is an indoor activity (many stores are connected by underground tunnels) and Montreal just has some great fashion. One of my favorite shops to go to is Simons since it has many different kinds of pieces you can’t find anywhere else that aren’t too expensive.
Another great attraction that doesn’t have consequences is spending way too much money shopping. The Biodome is a unique experience that Montreal offers. What it is, is it’s in the Olympic Park in what was a velodrome (cycling stadium). It’s now a giant place with a bunch of different rooms that represent the different biomes, and in each of them, they have the animals and plants in them that would live in that biome.
The MMFA is a nice place to visit for the afternoon if you need to do indoor attractions because of the weather or something. The MMFA is a fine art Museum in Montreal that costs about $16 CAD per person on entry.
This attraction is more for people with gremlins(kids). The Montreal Science Centre is a fun place that I remember going to as a child and enjoying since they have so many different activities that you can do. If you need to fill your day with a little more this would be a great option for those gremlins.
Food:
I would say Montreal is known for its food and unique interesting restaurants. These are some of the restaurants that I went to and just think are all-around cool:
Reuben’s Deli & Steakhouse is essential when I go to Montreal because it offers some great food options and it has the classic Montreal Smoke Meat sandwich which in my opinion is one of the better options they offer.
Another great option for food especially on very cold days is to go to Restaurant Ho Guom which is a ramen place in Montreal that offers a bunch of different types of ramen.
Mange Dans Mon Hood is an interesting burger place in Montreal that offers a bunch of different types of burgers that are not too pricey which is a nice change from potentially some other more expensive options.
Hotels:
Montreal offers many different types of hotels obviously but my favorite one that I have visited and stayed in was the “Hôtel Bonaventure Montréal”. This hotel is great because of the location which is right next to the train station so it is perfect if you want to take the train to Montréal. It is perfect since you just have to walk across the street and you’re there. Now obviously there are other options to stay in Montréal but, I believe that this is the best one because of the location, great service, and THEY HAVE A YEAR-ROUND OUTDOOR POOL! As a swimmer myself this is a great place to stay.
When to visit:
There are two times to visit which are the best either to go on a Family day weekend or anytime during the summertime. These are great times to visit because in the wintertime it looks super magical and pretty and in the summer it also has a sort of glimmer to it and the weather is great in the summertime. And those are the reasons why you should either in the late wintertime or mid-time of the summertime.
Why should you go?:
Montréal is a great destination to visit since it offers a lot and is a different place from the typical city. It does have that Québécois and French feel which is nice and different compared to the typical city. So if you would like to enjoy a unique city for a few days Montréal is perfect.
Safety:
Montréal is a relatively safe city but even though you may feel safe while you are there make sure you stay safe, be careful, and super safe everyone!
Environment:
In regards to the environment since we only have one, make sure when you're traveling to be conscious about the environment since we still need it to last us many more decades so think green.
